  • Project Overview

Nansha Gymnasium is a multi-purpose sports venue located in Guangzhou’s Nansha District. The building has a total floor area of about 30,000 square meters and served as the competition venue for martial arts during the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games. Today, it continues to host sports events, training programs, and cultural performances.

Projects like this showcase the versatility and performance advantages of Jadelly Building Decorative Materials in large public facilities.

  • Design Concept

The architectural design combines elements of traditional Chinese Tai Chi philosophy with coastal cultural inspiration. The building shape resembles a spiral conch shell, creating a dynamic visual effect that symbolizes balance and movement.

  • Application of Aluminum Materials

Various aluminum materials are used throughout the project, including aluminum panels, aluminum square tubes, tubular aluminum ceilings, and aluminum strip ceiling panels. The curtain wall uses aluminum panels in different gray tones to simulate the natural texture of a shell. Inside the venue, tubular aluminum ceilings improve acoustic performance while maintaining a modern appearance.

  • Project Challenges

The project had a tight construction timeline, as it needed to be completed before the Asian Games. The curved façade and spiral structure required precise customization of aluminum components. In addition, the coastal environment required strong corrosion resistance.

  • Solutions

All aluminum materials were treated with high-quality fluorocarbon coatings to resist corrosion and salt spray. Advanced modeling techniques were used to optimize the size and curvature of components. Modular installation methods helped speed up construction and improve accuracy.

  • Project Significance

Nansha Gymnasium demonstrates how aluminum materials can combine aesthetics and performance in large sports facilities. The project has received several national and international awards and serves as a strong example of the architectural possibilities offered by Jadelly Building Decorative Materials.
